Tai Murray and Martin Roscoe

Saturday 28 May 2022

This event has passed.

Described as “superb” by the New York Times, violinist Tai Murray has established herself a musical voice of a generation.

Winner of an Avery Fisher Career Grant, and a former BBC New Generation Artist, she has performed as guest soloist on main stages world-wide, and with orchestras including the Indianapolis Symphony, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and all the BBC orchestras.

She is joined by Howard Assembly Room favourite, pianist Martin Roscoe for a programme of romances by both Clara and Robert Schumann, beautiful 20th century minimalist classics from Adams and Part and Schubert’s Violin Sonata No. 4, also known as the Grand Duo.

“Technically flawless… vivacious and scintillating… It is without doubt that Murray’s style of playing is more mature than that of many seasoned players; and, with a debut record this outstanding, it can safely be assumed that she will exceed many expectations – she’s certainly exceeded mine.”
