This event has passed.
International guest artists from Opera North’s autumn season enchant with a set of songs from their homelands, and others on the theme of wandering.
Leading cast members from our upcoming production of Carmen, American soprano Chrystal E. Williams (Carmen) and New Zealander Phillip Rhodes (Escamillo) exchange the Grand Theatre for a more intimate stage, to lead us on the journey home with songs from Vaughan Williams, Hall Johnson and more. They are joined by British-Indian soprano Natasha Agarwal, whose recent credits include the LPO’s revival of Ravi Shankar’s Sukanya, and Opera Holland Park’s The Cunning Little Vixen this summer.
Soprano and Opera North Vocal Animateur Marie Claire Breen brings folk songs from Scotland.
Opera North’s Head of Music, David Cowan, accompanies them on the piano.
We regret that due to illness, Katherine Broderick and Camila Titinger will not be performing in this concert as previously advertised.
