This year-long programme seeks to inspire, nurture and guide ten talented young orchestral instrumentalists on their journey to studying music at a conservatoire or university.

This programme will guide and help prepare ten talented young musicians for their entry auditions into tertiary music performance programmes across the country and ensure they have established the core skills on which to build.

Young Performers Studio will include a mixture of group classes and one-to-one sessions, based at the Howard Opera Centre in Leeds. It will be designed to complement participants’ existing instrumental lessons, where applicable, and give added experience to their current instrumental lessons.

An Individual Learning Plan and schedule will be created for each student, with oversight from the Young Musicians Development Lead. Students will get the opportunity to work with members from the Orchestra of Opera North, as well as guest performers and educators.
