Join us for a fun and thrilling afternoon and evening of music making where you have the opportunity to perform Mozart’s Requiem as part of a massed choir in the audience seats of Leeds Grand Theatre, accompanied by the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North and professional soloists.
Opera North’s Chorus Master, Tony Kraus, will be our conductor for the event. The afternoon will include a piano rehearsal and rehearsal with the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North, culminating in a final public performance in the evening.
You don’t need to be an experienced choral singer to take part, but you do need to be able to read a music score or be able to pick up music by ear and follow along with a score.
Please bring your own score with you to use on the day. Please note we will use the Mozart Requiem Bärenreiter / Süssmayr edition. Our contacts at Bärenreiter have kindly offered a 15% discount for participants to purchase a score throughout the month of December by entering this code at the checkout: EvKrEQ via this link.
Please note this project is open to adults aged 18+.
Please be aware that seating is unreserved. Participants will be sat in groups according to their voice part and will be directed to their relevant voice part location in the Stalls on the day. If you require wheelchair access or have specific Access requirements, please contact lifelonglearning@operanorth.co.uk
