It’s Christmas eve, and the hard-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge is resisting the festive joy.
However, after some exquisite music and several chilling apparitions, his icy heart may just melt in time for Christmas day.
Acclaimed playwright David Simpatico’s adaptation of A Christmas Carol features Dickens’ original words interspersed with Will Todd’s beautiful arrangements of traditional Victorian carols. Featuring members of the Chorus of Opera North accompanied by a small instrumental ensemble, this new production by PJ Harris (Simon Boccanegra) is specially conceived for the intimate splendour of the Victorian Howard Assembly Room. Celebrating the true spirit of Christmas, it promises to be the perfect seasonal treat.
