Multi award-winning Glasgow-based trio Talisk charge folk music with an explosive new energy, an electrifying reminder of the genre’s roots in dance and coming together.

From sweat-soaked, breakneck reels to plaintive ballads, their distinctive sound is built on the interplay of three astonishing musicians: Graeme Armstrong (guitar), Hayley Keenan (fiddle) and BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Musician of the Year 2018 Mohsen Amini on concertina.

Since the pandemic forced them to cut short a US tour, they’ve streamed some brilliant shows from locations including Mohsen’s bedroom and garage. But their return to performance in real life – and their Howard Assembly Room debut – will be true cause for celebration.
