Lunchtime Recital - Samling Institute Showcase

Thursday 28 April 2022

This event has passed.

Man, Woman, Child, a duet cycle by Jonathan Dove, was commissioned by Samling Institute for Young Artists to mark its 25th Anniversary in 2021.

Samling Artists Shakira Tsindos, Dominic Sedgwick and Ian Tindale present for the first time this version for mezzo-soprano and baritone to tell a story of love, healing and new life. Dove, who took inspiration from the Australian poet Judith Wright to set six of her poems, will give a pre-concert talk. This lunchtime concert also includes music by Vaughan Williams, Rebecca Clarke, Gerald Finzi, Roger Quilter and Frank Bridge reflecting the themes of Man, Woman, Child.

For 25 years, the Samling Artist Programme has provided outstanding early career singers and pianists with intensive residential coaching opportunities, led by world-class singers, conductors, pianists, vocal coaches and actors. There are now 373 Samling Artists, from 40 countries, who can be seen in the world’s greatest opera houses and concert halls.

This event will also be streamed live. Watch live on YouTube
